Rack Detector — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 27, 2026
This policy explains what information the Rack Detector desktop application and this website collect, how it is used, and who it is shared with. Rack Detector is developed by Elevation Technology Solutions ("we," "us"). If you have any questions, email elevationtechnology@outlook.com.
Your photos stay on your computer
Rack Detector processes your trail-camera images entirely on your own computer. Your photos are never uploaded to us or to any third party, and we never see them. All wildlife detection and sorting happens offline on your machine.
Information we collect
- License activation. When you activate a license key, the app sends us your email address and an anonymous device identifier (a one-way hash derived from your computer's hardware ID — not your name, files, or hardware details). We use this only to activate and manage your license (for example, to limit a key to one computer) and to provide support. This one-time activation requires an internet connection; after that, the app runs offline.
- Purchases. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full payment-card details. Stripe provides us with your email address and basic order information so we can send you your license key and support you.
- This website. Our website is a static site and does not collect personal information beyond the standard, anonymized server logs kept by our hosting provider. When you click the "Download" button, we record an anonymous, timestamped count (via Supabase) so we can gauge interest — this contains no personal information (just the date and time of the click).
How we use your information
- To issue, activate, and manage your license (including limiting a key to one device).
- To deliver your license key and provide customer support.
- To keep records of purchases as required for our business.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the product:
- Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com/privacy).
- Supabase — hosts the license-activation database that stores your activation record (email + anonymous device identifier) (supabase.com/privacy).
We do not otherwise share your information, except where required by law.
Data retention
We keep your activation record and order information for as long as your license is active and as needed for support and business records. You can ask us to delete your information at any time by emailing us (this may deactivate your license).
Your choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you by emailing elevationtechnology@outlook.com.
Children
Rack Detector is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above.
